“Subterranean” is a project that documents how New Yorkers are activity subverting the visual lexicon that has been placed in their public spaces to sell products and ideas. The partnership between government and privet enterprise, justified by the lack of public monies to support public spaces and transportation, has visual transformed public space into a venue for capitalism and the promotion of state ideology. This project documents the reactionary acts of civil disobedience against these trends.
